Better Image Optimizer is designed with privacy as a core principle.
Data Collection
We do not collect any data.
The app:
- Does not collect personal information
- Does not track usage or analytics
- Does not transmit any data to external servers
- Does not require an internet connection
- Does not use third-party analytics or advertising SDKs
Local Processing
All image optimization is performed locally on your Mac. Your images:
- Never leave your device
- Are processed entirely in-memory using the libvips library
- Are saved only to locations you explicitly choose
File Access
The app only accesses files and folders that you explicitly provide through:
- Drag and drop
- File picker dialogs
- Watch folders you configure
The app uses macOS sandbox security and does not have access to files outside of what you grant.
Third-Party Libraries
Better Image Optimizer uses the open-source libvips library for image processing. This library operates entirely locally and does not transmit any data.
